AzBT® 35K — The Soul of Azores Bravos Trail®

The 35K race of the Azores Bravos Trail® is an intense route that truly represents the essence of the event. It combines natural trails, significant elevation gain, and some of the most emblematic landscapes of Terceira Island.

The race starts in the coastal area of Biscoitos, where the Atlantic Ocean and volcanic formations create an inspiring setting. From the very beginning, athletes head inland through natural trails and agricultural paths.

The challenge truly takes shape during the long ascent to Rocha do Chambre, one of the most iconic points of the Azores Bravos Trail®. The climb is demanding and continuous, but the reward comes in the form of a wide, striking view that fully compensates for the accumulated effort.

The course continues across Caldeira Guilherme Moniz, a vast pastoral landscape where contact with nature is constant. The presence of free-roaming cattle gives this section a distinctive character, requiring attention and respect, while the rolling terrain puts athletes’ endurance to the test.

Further on, the ascent to Serra do Morião offers one of the most memorable moments of the race. From the top, a privileged view opens over Angra do Heroísmo, Monte Brasil, and the Atlantic, signaling the approach to the end of the course.

The descent leads athletes directly into the heart of the city, along trails and historic streets, to the finish line at Parque Municipal do Relvão. Completing the 35K of the Azores Bravos Trail® is to live a complete trail-running experience, where effort, landscape, and emotion come together in an unforgettable way.
