The start of the Endurance race begins at the Miradouro do Facho, in Praia da Vitória.
Following the ascent route to Serra do Cume, what remains of one of the largest volcanoes in the archipelago, at its summit, athletes can observe the idyllic scenery of the extensive crater. The basalt fences create an immense Patchwork Blanket, forming one of the most iconic and beautiful landscapes in the Azores.
Along the official trail of 'Passagem das Bestas,' marked in the rock are the tracks of the immense carts that once passed through, and the magnificent Caldeira de Guilherme Moniz comes into view for the first time.
Winding through various pastures and reaching the highest point of Pico do Boi, the descent begins to the greens of the Golf Club, then continuing the route through the Matas da Agualva until reaching the meeting point for the 65K race.
