The 35 km journey begins in the magnificent coastal area of Biscoitos, where the Atlantic merges with the volcanic formations in a breathtaking setting. This start inspires the athletes, who follow trails of dense nature and agricultural paths, where each step is accompanied by the tranquility of the rural landscape.
As the route progresses, the true essence of the challenge comes in the ascent of about 12 km to the emblematic viewpoint of Rocha do Chambre. This point, which is a true symbol of the Azores Bravos Trail®, provides a breathtaking view, which seems to reward the effort with a unique emotion. Here, the hearts of athletes find not only natural beauty, but also a special place to keep in memory.
Continuing, the route takes the brave through trails and pasture fields, where the Guilherme Moniz Boiler reveals its grandeur. This place, home to wild cattle that share its vast lands with the athletes, gives the route a mix of adrenaline and respect for the wild nature of Terceira Island.
When they finally reach the top of Serra do Morião, the runners are presented with an unparalleled view: Angra do Heroísmo, the historic UNESCO World Heritage city. Down below, the contours of Monte Brasil and the vastness of the Atlantic create a scenario that seems to come out of a dream. It is the last moment to soak up the grandeur of the Azores Bravos Trail®, before starting the final descent.
The route ends in the streets of Angra, a city that was twice the capital of Portugal. With its cobblestone streets, imposing architecture and welcoming spirit, Angra offers the perfect stage for the celebration of achievements achieved.
